These white napkins with ruby red bows are so simple and elegant! Such an easy Christmas table decor idea! The rich red is repeated with the red berry accents and red taper candles for a classic, timeless, classy Christmas look. This deep merlot red color is a big color trend for Christmas 2024!

1. Start with a Stunning Tablecloth or Runner
A classic white linen tablecloth or a chic velvet runner in deep jewel tones sets the foundation for an elegant tablescape.
Pair it with complementary napkins to tie the look together.
For a minimalist vibe, opt for neutral tones like white, green or beige.
I love this simple, neutral Christmas table setting with beige table cloth and napkins, pine garland runner, twinkle lights, votives and pillar candles. The white dinnerware keeps it timeless and stylish. So chic!
Designer tip: Using 3 neutral colors, in this case beige, white and green creates a timeless, classic look that’s easy to create.

2. Incorporate Natural Elements
Add warmth and texture with natural greenery, pinecones, and berries.
Use a cedar or pine garland for a simple Christmas centerpiece along the length of the table for a fresh and organic touch.

Another idea is to add a stunning vase filled with cedar and pine stems.
A mix of green and white tones keeps the look clean and classy.
For a DIY touch, add a handmade fresh rosemary ‘wreath’ to each place setting!
Tie a sprig of rosemary into a circle and add a velvet ribbon on top for a gorgeous, natural look.
You can also do this with a stem of fresh cedar!

I love this stunning green velvet tablecloth and these elegant green napkins! Adding natural elements with pine stems and miniature pine trees creates a sophisticated holiday look.
Designer tip: repeat the table decor accent color at least 3 times to create a cohesive, pulled together look.

3. Opt for Metallic Accents – Elegant Christmas Table Decoration Ideas
Gold, silver, or black metallic accents instantly add sophistication.
Use metallic charger plates, candleholders, or napkin rings to create a luxurious vibe without overwhelming the design.
This works beautifully in both rustic and modern settings.
I love these gold candlesticks with beige and black taper candles! The gorgeous votives and pillar candles tucked around a cedar garland runner is a chic and tranquil look!
Design Tip: Mix and match your metallics! But don’t combine more than 2 metallic finishes.

4. Keep Lighting Warm and Inviting
Candles are a must for a cozy ambiance!
Choose a mix of pillar candles, taper candles, tea lights and fairy lights in varying heights to create depth and dimension.
These are my favorite battery operated flickering flame candles and fluted votive candle holders!
Stick to white or neutral tones for a timeless look.
I love these simple, elegant glass taper candleholders – so stylish! These white ceramic houses are such a big trend this year and also look stunning on a fireplace mantel, tv unit and console table too. The white minimalist ceramic trees and white bottlebrush trees add more texture and festive holiday ambiance!
Designer tip: Vary the height of the centerpiece table decor for style and interest, but keep them low enough that they don’t block conversation!

These floating candles are so magical! The large bow is a popular trend this Christmas!

5. Personalize with Thoughtful Details
Handwritten place cards or small ornaments at each setting add a personal touch.
These can also double as keepsakes for your guests!
They are elegant Christmas table decoration ideas that really make a statement.
I love adding these gorgeous pine napkin rings to each place setting – add a velvet bow ribbon and place on top of the napkin on the dinner plate to add a festive look.
Incorporating modern, minimalist elements ensures your table feels fresh and on-trend.
Your Christmas table doesn’t need to be overly elaborate to feel special.
By focusing on a cohesive color palette and layering textures, you can achieve a look that’s both simple and sophisticated.

6. Simple and Elegant Christmas Decoration ideas For A Round Table
If you have a round table you can skip the table runner and stick to a round table cloth that brushes the floor….or no table cloth.
If you have place settings that are directly across from each other you can add a table runner.
This modern round table setting is so beautiful! A few pine branches and candles act as a simple centerpiece that doesn’t take up a lot of room.

Napkins tied with velvet ribbon bows are so festive and simple to put together!

Also, I don’t recommend adding a long cedar garland as a centerpiece for a round table.
Add a small cedar wreath to the center and add a few candles to the middle of it for a simple centerpiece idea.
I love this gorgeous round table holiday look. This centerpiece tray holding 2 taper candles and a small vase of Christmas greenery fits the round table shape.
