Thank you Krista at The Happie Housie for hosting this fun Seasonal Simplicity Summer design blog tour!
Summer is such a fun time to decorate our homes with the scent and feel of summertime!
So far I’ve already decorated my newly remodeled kitchen with summery touches, decorated my living room for summer, decorated my fireplace mantel for summer and made a new peony Summer wreath for my front door.
I’m loving the brighter and lighter vibes in our home with these simple changes!
If you’re coming from Craftberry Bush – welcome!

How to decorate a summer entryway that’s welcoming:
Overall Style
Make sure you stick to your design style when decorating your entryway for summer to make sure it flows with the rest of your home. My design style is transitional, which is a modern twist on traditional style. I also love casual, livable (I’m a Mom of 2 boys!) glam elegance and sophistication so I always incorporate those feelings into all of my rooms.
To make a foyer feel welcoming make sure you add comfort and coziness with your decor and entryway furniture.
Making my foyer feel welcoming is so dear to my heart! I love greeting my family and guests with the warmest welcoming feeling as soon as they step into my home!
I also just started adding a touch of ‘boho’ to my home! I recently bought these macrame fringe indoor/outdoor pillows which you can see in my summer kitchen tour – these pillows have so much gorgeous texture!
I also picked up this incredible set of 3 boho’ish macrame, fringe and tassel baskets that you can see in my living room tour and kitchen tour! I use these gorgeous baskets to put my palm trees in, my fiddle leaf fig trees in and for storage of throw blankets and magazines!
They are perfect for summer and their style is still elegant enough with it’s neutral color to fit into my home!
Color palette
Create a color palette for your entryway that has a summery feel and goes with your paint color. I love blues for summer so my summer entryway color palette is blue, cream, black (in my rug) and gray.
How to Pick Paint Colors With Confidence!
Decorate a summer entryway with Mirrors
Every entryway needs a mirror (or two) I think! Especially in the summer when all of us are in and out of the house so frequently, between soccer practices, beach visits and all the outdoor activities to do!
A mirror in the foyer lets you check your lipgloss and hair as you head out the door, creates a focal point and makes your room feel larger!
I created this gallery wall of beautiful sunburst mirrors in just over an hour and love the sparkle it gives the entryway!
If you have a console table in your foyer hang a mirror above it!
Even if you have a small and narrow entryway you can fit a small mirror into the space!
I used this mirror with shelf with a design client – she had no entryway at all (her front door opened right into her living room). She loved the mirror with shelf idea to give her a bit of storage space and she hung these hooks under it to hang her bag, coat ect!
If you’re adding a new mirror for the summer, consider buying one in rattan like this one or other summery material!
Art
This stunning diptych wall art in blues and creams and abstract style fits in perfectly with my color palette and overall style! I love the modern beachy feel of it! I recently picked up this set at HomeGoods – you might be able to still find it!
See my beautiful diptych wall art in my living room – I created the diptych using two framed pictures of this one gorgeous abstract print, and hung one upside down!
Bench
I decorated my bench for summer with these gorgeous pillows in indigo blue, black and cream. They sync with my color palette and add a gorgeous pop of color and pattern to the space!
This bench is one of my FAVORITE pieces of furniture I’ve bought. It’s so comfy and we love having it to sit on to put on our shoes, drop our keys and mail on as we come in.
Flowers and Greenery to decorate a summer entryway
Every room needs flowers and greenery! Classic summer flowers are orchids, hydrangeas and peonies. Once my flower gardens start blooming I’ll have fresh flowers here on this shelf but for now I’m using this faux floral arrangement that I picked up at HomeGoods.
I tried to buy blue hydrangeas but couldn’t find any at the grocery store!
My faux fiddle leaf fig tree and branches stay here year round and I love how they look in my entryway! These plants and flowers add such a welcoming vibe to my entryway!
