I’m so excited to decorate my home for summer! I’ve already decorated my newly remodeled kitchen with summery touches and made a new peony Summer wreath for my front door.
Things are feeling brighter and lighter already and it’s a welcome change after this long winter we had!

5 Elegant Summer Mantel Decor Ideas:
- Color Palette – Choose a color palette that coordinates with the colors in your living room. Since my living room has a neutral base, it allows me to be flexible with my accent colors, which I love to switch up for the seasons. I added a pop of fresh summer color to my mantel with timeless blue and white! See how to create a color palette for your mantel decor and living room. I love how these navy blue candles, white candles and white ceramic vase feel with my gray paint color and comfy ivory rug!
- Candles – Mixing wax candles and battery operated candles give the perfect mix of real flickering flames and convenience! I am obsessed with these battery operated dancing flame candles!
- Candlesticks – I love to mix and match my candlesticks! Here I used crystal candlesticks, ceramic, clear glass and mercury glass! I love the mix of finishes to make the white mantel look more interesting! Candlesticks add another layer of pattern and texture to a summer mantel.
- Air plants – I love the look of air plants for summer! These are artificial but there are also some gorgeous big and bold air plants you can use too! I added a few to my hubby’s military pewter mug and tucked a few more around the base of the candlesticks.
Finish your summer mantel look by adding a few things to the hearth area!
This will create balance and a complete cohesive look.
Here’s my recipe for decorating the hearth of your fireplace for summer:
- Baskets: I added a gorgeous fringe and tassel basket filled with gorgeous shibori print pillows and cozy pom pom throw blanket to one side of the fireplace.
- Vase: On the other side I added this beautiful tall white ceramic vase filled with faux fiddle leaf fig stems for some greenery!
- Greenery: Adding greenery to a living room is one of the key steps on how to design a beautiful living room! Adding green stems, or a houseplant like a palm tree, olive tree or fiddle leaf fig tree will add texture and color. See these Beautiful Houseplants That Ship To Your Door!
