Simple Summer Fire Pit Seating Area
I have a BIG treat for you today! Some of my blog friends and I are sharing our outdoor spaces, simple decorating ideas and the ways we love to celebrate the simple things about summer this week! Today I’m sharing my outdoor Simple Summer Fire Pit Seating Area – we LOVE to spend the summer around our fire pit roasting marshmallows and listening to the the summer sounds of frogs, crickets and whippoorwills at night.

Simple Summer Fire Pit Seating Area
At our home summer is all about kicking off the flip flops and relaxing in our backyard – on our deck and patio. We love to unwind and enjoy the simple things about summer around our patio fire pit: toasting up delicious s’mores, roasting hot dogs, watching the flames flicker in the fire pit and leaning back into our comfy Adirondack chairs with a summer thirst-quenching beverage!
To keep summer living simple I love to have our snacks and beverages within easy reach by our fire pit area so we aren’t going back and forth up the flight of stairs to our kitchen to replenish supplies.
Keeping a bar cart made of powder coated metal (it can stay outside and not get damaged by the rain!) by our fire pit corrals all of our drinks, glasses, s’more fixings, plates and napkins.
At the end of the night we bring in anything that can get wet or store it in a storage trunk we have on our deck above.

We also have a pallet wood potting bench that we made – that stores the marshmallow roasting sticks!
Also around the side of the patio we keep a rolling lidded container on wheels that we can easily grab and roll over to the fire pit to add more firewood when the fire gets low!
We also keep a few birch logs in a metal tin pail for kindling.
Having great outdoor storage solutions really does keep our summers simple and low fuss.
The decorator in me keeps things stylish but simple with cozy throws and comfy pillows in simple patterns of stripes and geometric prints.

My go-to simple color palette of black and white adds some graphic ‘pow’ to our fire pit seating area….. and lets all the gorgeous greenery we are lucky to have here take center stage!
Oversized ferns, leafy hostas, purple clematis in the flower beds and the towering lush green cedars and pines surrounding our property wrap our fire pit zone with the simplicity and beauty of mother nature in her summer finery.
A container of flowering plants add a splash of color.
I can’t wait to spend time out here on weekends and summer evenings!
Simple summers are all about having our military family together in one place – the mama bird in me loves to have all of her chicks in the nest!
