I didn’t refrigerate mine Wendy – I used it up pretty quickly. I had mine in the shower and used it every day when I showered.

Hi Heather I am going to try making your lime mint sugar scrub. Is this something you would use on your face or is it a body scrub?
I use it on my face and on my body Bev! The skin on my face is really sensitive so I gently pat/scrub it on my face. On my body I just go to town with it – its great too for the soles of your feet 🙂 Have fun making some!!
How long does it last and do you have to refrigerate it if you live in a tropical climate?
Hi Nicola – I don’t know the maximum shelf life…I’ve always used mine up before it went ‘bad’. If you make it up according to my instructions for the jar size – you’ll use it up fast!
Hi! I have made both the rose petal one and the lime mint. I find that the product is dry I the jar when I open it. How do I prevent that? Shouldn’t it be a bit moist?
It shouldn’t be really moist. Perhaps adding in more coconut oil will make it more moist for you…..

Heather, I love body scrubs! I use them year round–Vermont air can be drying, especially since I work out a lot, and my feet, especially, need TLC. Never thought of making my own, yet it looks so easy to do. Saw the peppermint-lime one, then further down the page the Pina Colada–now, I can try these. Thanks for posting. Do you think this would work with fresh mint leaves instead of essential oil? I’m trying to use stuff I already have on hand.
It won’t be the same – essential oil is stronger than the leaves but you could try it!
