DIY Forest Pine Candle In A Jar
Supplies:
Soy wax flakes (find them HERE)
Forest Pine fragrance (I LOVE this holiday fragrance set! )
Glass jar with lid
Gold Spray paint – ( this is my Hands Down FAVORITE gold spray paint!)
Hot glue gun and hot glue
Instructions:
Step one: Spray paint lid of glass jar with one or two coats of gold spray paint. Let dry between each coat. I’m in love with this spray paint line and this gold color – it’s high quality and sprays on like a dream! I can’t wait to try out their silver color too!
Step two: Glue a wick to the center bottom of the jar.
Step three: melt soy wax flakes in a large microwave-safe bowl for a minute or 2. 4 cups of wax will fill fit one mid-size and one small jar. You can always melt more if needed. I use a large pyrex measuring cup for pouring. (Use the double boiler method instead of the microwave to melt the wax if you like. Stir every 30 seconds until wax is completely melted.)
Step four: stir in about 15 drops of fragrance oil into melted wax or more until scented to the way you like it.
Step five: pour wax slowly into jar and let the candle sit for several hours or overnight until solid. Once the candle is solid, trim wick to ¼ inch. Once candle has completely cooled add lid.
(You can also add a gift tag to it at this point! Printable Thankful Tags)
Isn’t it pretty? I just love the shimmery, gold glam lid!
I’m displaying my new pretty candle on this gold tray on my kitchen island with a bouquet of pine, cedar and some of my chartreuse potato vine leaves! It’s such a gorgeous natural way to decorate and the pine scent is amazing!

Hi Heather, so after seeing your candle post, I now have this desire to make candles to add to my goodie boxes for family, however, I have been reading reviews on the soy wax flakes and while they are good, it seems as tho the candles aren’t the simple melt a pour. Some say when making a 16 oz candle you have to pour in stages to prevent cracks and problems. That right away made be think twice simply because my husband is questioning the expense vs just buying an already made candle. Can you tell me, did you have any issues melting and pouring in your 16 oz jars. I was actually thinking of just pouring smaller candles, more like a little token gift added to the food gift box I make. Thanks for your reply
heather says
Hi! I didnt have that problem at all. As soon as the wax was melted I poured it in the jar. And I let it cool and set up completely on the counter on a cutting board. I think the problem with cracking may be heating the wax too high and cooling it too fast maybe.

Plan on making over 120 of these for wedding favors in 4 oz glass jars. Thank you! You saved me about $200.
