What’s trending this season
Christmas tree trends for 2025 are elevated, collected, and effortlessly chic.
This year’s look is all about texture, tone, and timeless beauty. Think: cozy sophistication with personality.
Whether you lean modern, organic, or classic, 2025 brings something for every design style—and I’m breaking it all down for you below.

2025 Christmas Tree Trend #1: The Ralph Lauren Holiday Look — “Equestrian Elegance”
This one’s having a major moment—and it’s the definition of timeless elegance.
Picture a tree that feels like classic Ralph Lauren: warm mahogany tones, aged brass ornaments, plaid ribbon, with touches of navy and deep red.
It’s cozy, tailored, and oh-so-refined.
Designer Tip: To nail this look, layer textures—velvet, satin, aged brass, and dark woods. Use classic tartan ribbon for dimension, and finish with matte gold or bronze ornaments (not shiny—think “aged heirloom”).
Color Tip: Choose a tree with deep green needles—it grounds the rich palette beautifully. If your room has warm undertones, use navy ribbon to balance it; if it’s cooler, add cranberry or burgundy.

Trend #2: Organic Modern Naturals
Nature-inspired Christmas decor continues to shine, and 2025 is all about subtle elegance.
Think linen ribbons, wooden ornaments, alabaster stars, and cozy whites—perfect if you love the Organic Modern aesthetic.
Insider Secret: Layer ornament textures — matte, velvet, and burnished — to keep neutrals interesting. A mix of matte and softly metallic ornaments adds warmth without going overboard.
Color Tip: Warm whites, beige, greige, and soft taupe ornaments pair beautifully with real greenery and woven baskets under your tree.

2025 Christmas Tree Trend #3: Metallics That Glow (Not Glitter)
Forget the over the top glittered look. 2025’s metallic trend is muted glow—champagne, pewter, and soft bronze that reflect light like candlelight.
Designer Tip: Place these cascading twinkling lights lights inside the tree branches. This creates that dreamy inner twinkle seen in high-end holiday displays.
Pro Measurement Tip: For perfect proportion, use about 100 lights per foot of tree height. So, for a 7-foot tree, aim for 700 lights—it’s the sweet spot for a radiant (not blinding) tree.
Number of Ornaments Rule: You’ll need 10-15 ornaments per foot of tree height for a balanced look.

Trend #4: “A Tree in Every Room”
Yes, it’s a thing—and it’s fabulous. Smaller trees in bedrooms, kitchens, or foyers can tie your whole home together.
Each tree can tell its own story while keeping a cohesive palette.
I’m recommending these to all of my design clients! These natural trees are the big trend this year and they come in sets of 2-3 staggered heights so you can layer them by your fireplace, in the entryway or bedroom…or in a corner of the dining room.

To get the designer look I also recommend these twinkling birch trees!
They can be kept up after the holidays to add beautiful ambiance to your home and brighten up gray winter days and nights!
Designer Tip: Keep each tree in the same undertone family (warm or cool) for visual flow. A little continuity keeps it feeling designed, not random.
Trend #5: Soft Twinkle Lights 2025 Christmas Tree Trend
These are mini lights that softly twinkle!
They add a gorgeous dreamy, magical holiday look to your tree and garland!
These gorgeous twinkle lights have a remote and timer and can be added to your prelit tree and garland
Or you can buy this viral Christmas tree that comes with twinkle lights.
It’s is the most popular tree right now and sold out early last year!
💡 My Pro Color and Scale Secrets
- Before buying, measure your ceiling and leave 6–12″ of clearance for your topper.
- Use larger ornaments (4–6″) near the bottom and smaller ones toward the top for balance.
- Repeating a color from the room such as the wall color or pillow color in the tree decor will make your holiday room look pulled together and cohesive!
- A simple way to choose tree decor colors: choose one main accent color (such as burgundy) and one metallic color (such as gold) for tree ornaments.
- Make your tree ornament colors pop: Add contrast with wood (wood ornaments, wood tree collar or bead garland) for style and texture and glass ornaments for sparkle and reflection.
