I love to decorate my entry way at Christmas to create a space that’s welcoming and cozy for guests and family!

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen clips of my holiday spaces and all the Christmas decor tips I share there!

The front entry is the first room in the home that your guests see your personality and style! So add some warm, inviting elements with holiday lighting and decor to make it special!

Here are the ways I love to add a festive, welcoming look to my foyer:

Christmas Entryway Decor Ideas –  The Overall Style, Colors & Feeling of the Entry:

The first step in decorating your entryway for Christmas is to decide on how you want your front entry to feel!

Cheery? Elegant? Whimsical? I decided I wanted a timeless, elegant feel to our foyer with a winter wonderland style!

Next step is to select your holiday colors? Do you like bright colors? Classic Red? Gold and Silver? I chose gold and silver mixed with creamy ivory for my foyer holiday look.

What style do you want your foyer to have for Christmas?

Coastal? Traditional? Modern? This will determine the style of ornaments, wreaths and decor you bring into your entry!

See these easy inviting winter wonderland Christmas entryway decor ideas!

Embellish On What You Have & Determine What You Need:

Survey your entry and decide on what you already have that will create the Christmas style you want. Then determine what you need to fill the gaps.

Maybe you have a console table that you want to decorate but you need a new area rug. Or maybe you need a new mirror and some bench seating. Maybe its new garland or tabletop Christmas trees. Make a list and pick up what you need to create your Christmas entry!

I’m still obsessed with this gray and ivory rug in our foyer! It’s so stunning! It’s a gorgeous timeless pattern, so soft and hides dirt really well!

We also get so many compliments on our high back tufted bench! It’s on sale now – 63% off and free shipping!

I would buy it again a million times over, we use it every day to sit and put our shoes on! And it’s really great for the holidays for guests!

Beautiful gray and ivory area rug in the foyer for Christmas style.

Here are several welcoming Christmas entryway decor ideas:

  1. Holiday Trees:
  • pencil tree
  • led birch tree
  • tall vase of decorative glitter birch branches

If you have the space add a pencil Christmas tree or this stunning led birch tree that has a twinkling light setting! Oh my – so gorgeous!

Next year I think I’ll add a slim flocked tree….or maybe this stunning gold tinsel tree I’ve had my eye on!

I think if I bend the branches on the back side I can squeeze a couple in the corners where my fiddle leaf fig stems are.

2. Console decor:

  • Garland
  • Glass Christmas trees
  • Cone Christmas trees
  • Farmhouse sign
  • Mirror to hang above the console
  • Wreath
  • Christmas balls

3. Bench decor:

  • throw
  • holiday pillows
  • garland

4. Wall Decor:

  • Holiday framed prints
  • Typography signs
  • Wreaths

5. Back of Front Door and Closet Doors

  • Wreaths
  • Christmas ribbon to hang wreath with
  • Christmas balls to add to the wreath

Holiday Lighting:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE adding glimmer lights to my entire home at Christmas! There is nothing more peaceful and relaxing than Christmas twinkle lights!

They are perfect for farmhouse style, traditional, modern and glam interior decor styles too!

I filled 4 lanterns I have in my foyer with them and draped one on the bench! They are battery operated with timers so they automatically turn on at dusk.

I use them outdoors in the summer too, on our porch and our backyard patio and pergola  – they add beautiful ambiance and decoration all year round!

Welcoming Christmas entryway decor. See this cozy front entry bench and simple Christmas decorations!

Bowl of Christmas Ornaments:

A bowl of Christmas ornaments is such an affordable, simple and quick way to decorate the entry for the holidays!

Use a color and ornament style you love and fill a bowl with this easy festive idea!

You could add small birch branches and led grapevine orbs for a rustic look.

I added silver and gold balls and gold glitter artificial leaves to a white ironstone bowl.  This is such an easy centerpiece! I love the shimmer and shine of the metallic Christmas balls!

Christmas Pillows are such welcoming Christmas entryway decor!

I’m obsessed with pillows – especially pillows with holiday patterns and holiday words! They make such a big impact!

Beaded and embroidered holiday pillows or pillows with festive quotes and snowflakes on them are a quick and easy way to add holiday style!

I picked these gorgeous metallic beaded JOY pillows at HomeSense, here are more holiday pillows you may like!

I mixed them with my Mongolian fur pillows – which actually look like snow at Christmas!

Pillows in a basket or on a bench are such beautiful Christmas entryway decor ideas!

Glam, modern beaded holiday pillow decorating ideas!

Decorative Wrapped Packages:

Each Christmas I buy a few rolls of coordinating holiday gift wrap to wrap some ‘presents’ with!

I save cardboard boxes in Oct and November and wrap them with beautiful holiday wrap and ribbon to stack around my home and under the tree.

They are  inexpensive holiday decor and can be reused each Christmas!

It’s a fun, whimsical way to add color and pattern into the foyer this time of year!
