How to Style a Bar Cart For The Holidays
Give your bar cart a festive holiday look with these 8 bar cart essentials!
1. Glassware: Make sure your bar cart has a variety of glasses for alcoholic drinks such as champagne glasses, wine glasses and cocktail glasses. Also include glassware for non alcoholic drinks such as iced beverage glasses.
I added wine glasses, champagne flutes and my hubby’s pewter military mugs – perfect for cold beer and sparkling water – to our bar cart!
2. Bar tools: A cocktail shaker and strainer are essentials!
3. Your bar cart needs to be stocked with alcoholic beverages: Basic liquors are Rum, Gin and Vodka.
4. Add a champagne bucket with a bottle of champagne on ice: for that extra special holiday celebration!
5. Hang a mirror or some art above your bar cart: this will give your bar cart ‘presence’.
I hung two black and white subway art pieces above our bar cart – These London, England and NYC locations are all places hubby and I have visited and have so many fond memories of!
I love the graphic look of subway art and how well they tie into the black finish of our bar cart.
6. Be sure to have non alcoholic beverages for those who are driving: We love Perrier so I added several small bottles of it to our bar cart.
7. Straws and Napkins are handy to have on your bar cart too!: I added these fun gold polka dotted straws and some black and white straws as well as some mistletoe appetizer napkins.
8. Holiday decor: Add a string of sparkly gold stars like these or pine garland to your bar cart for a fun, festive look!

Your husband’s mugs are beautiful. Maybe sometime you can share the story behind them? Please thank him for his service and thank YOU. My son is in the Air Force and I know first hand the sacrifices you and your boys have made for your husband to defend our country; it’s not easy. Our newest experience was a deployment to Afghanistan; he’s been home a month now and what a wonderful Thanksgiving it was.

Hi Rebecca – thank you so much for your lovely compliments!! I think hubby’s pewter military mugs are beautiful too – and have a lot of meaning for us! I certainly will share the story behind them – great idea!! I will pass on your thanks to my husband and we so appreciate your thoughts! I’m sure you are so so proud of your son being in the Air Force – our oldest son is in the Army now too – Armoured corps. He’s stationed out east but will be home this week for Christmas which we are thrilled about! Afghanistan is a seriously tough deployment – my husband was deployed there two times. Tell your son we wish him all the best on his deployment and congratulations for being selected to serve it. It’s an honor and comes with a lot of sacrifice. I’m sure you were so thrilled to have him home for Thanksgiving – isn’t it so, so special when military members are home for holidays?! We have spent many Christmas’s apart and always cherish every holiday we are together as a family. Prayers to you, your son and your family. Have a wonderful Christmas holiday Rebecca and thanks for visiting! xo Heather
