Fall Home Tour and Fall Decor Ideas: tips and tricks to decorate your home for Fall! Inside and out!
Fall is the season of bundling up in big chunky knit sweaters, running through fallen leaves, sipping apple cider, wrapping up in a plaid throw by the fire pit, fall picnics and decorating my home with lush harvest colors and autumn inspired accents!
Today I’m so excited to be opening my doors up and welcoming you to my
Fall Home Tour!
Welcome!! Come on in!!!!
This is my home!
I love all the pine and cedar trees behind our home- lots of privacy and greenery!
Leading up to the front of our home is a beautiful inlaid stone walkway and stone front steps – I love the texture and color of natural stone, do you?
The previous owners added lots of ornamental grasses, flowers and shrubs in the landscaping. Fall blooming purple Heuchera plants in our front gardens:
I snapped this picture early in the morning after it had rained….and captured this gorgeous bokah effect!
Ornamental grass – I love watching it blow in the wind, so pretty!
This is our chipmunk buddy who loves to hang out on our front step each day!
We painted our front door Sherwin Williams ‘Weathervane’ a deep chocolate brown color. It looks wonderful with the greige siding, the stone and brown roof.
I love to decorate my front entryway for fall with urns and a wreath for our door – here I added birch branches (from our back yard!) curly willow, faux fall leaves and pheasant feathers to 2 glossy black urns.
Wicker pumpkins and black glitter pumpkins – rustic glam!
…Come on in!
Our front foyer features a large wall niche with pot lights; I decorated this spot for fall with these beautiful red leafed branches in two of my vintage mason jars. I filled this pretty silver lantern with acorns.
This DIY silver painted oak leaf art is an easy way to decorate for fall!
My family room: our sectional sofa is so comfy! My easy white bling pumpkins and refinished dough bowl filled with fall leaves add a touch of rustic and glam to this room. Wine crates filled with birch branches bring more texture to this space.
I am totally in love with this horse artwork! I’ve always loved horses and used to ride when I was little…
I’ve added a black metal mesh bowl filled with my Pottery Barn Inspired Page Scrolls to our glass and chrome nesting tables. The handmade area rug is from Afghanistan (hubby brought it back from one of his deployments there). It looks gorgeous layered on our hardwood floor and is so soft too!
Looking from our living room into our dining room….
My design style is rustic glam….I love to mix metallics, crystal and contemporary pieces with rustic woods and antiques for a look that has soul …and if it’s shiny, glittery or blingy I’ll automatically love it! Like these Ralph Lauren crystal lamps on our sofa table….
…mixed with the rustic texture of these DIY Painted Union Jack Burlap Pillows!
My dining room decorated for fall: Adding a large wheat sheaf to a white vase is an easy-to- make centerpiece.
Our antique mahogany dining room table is set for a fall dinner with white dishes, dried fall leaves and this simple wheat centerpiece.
Easy DIY place cards made with dried copper-orange flower pods and paper clips!
My collection of candlesticks: glass, silver and crystal.
Topping a stack of books with a baby boo pumpkin is another quick way to decorate for fall!
Silver Rub n Buff came to the rescue when I made these burnished silver pumpkins! I collected these oak leaves last year from our local park:
Now let’s go out onto our back deck! A large pot filled with orange mums and purple fountain grass takes center stage:
Hubby and I love to sit out on our back deck in the fall sunshine.
I whipped up these 5 minute DIY orange, grey and black pillows using Ikea fabric.
Our back deck has two levels…this is our dining area….decorated for fall with more copper colored potted mums, a golden wheat colored tablecloth and faux leaf garland centerpiece.
More fall touches with pops of orange and grey wood chargers. When the sun sets I like to light these candles sitting in silver antler candle holders.
At the bottom of our deck is our fire pit sitting area – we use this almost every weekend! These Adirondack chairs are so comfy. On cool fall evenings I like to wrap up in this plaid throw.
This is the back of our home…
Here’s our hot tub – we really enjoy relaxing in it, our kids love it too!
This is a great place to lounge with a good book and a cup of apple cider! Which I think I’ll do right now!
Thanks for joining me today – I hope you enjoyed my fall home tour!!

Hi there,
What colour is the exterior of your house? We have the same stone and black accents and will be painting in the fall. I have been trying to narrow down colours and get away from the basic white we have now.
Happy Fall!
Megan
The siding is a taupe color with a touch of green to it and our front door is Sherwin Williams Weathervane – a rich brown that looks amazing with all of those colors and our dark brown roof! Hope that helps Megan!
