See how to create a beautiful black and white tablescape – al fresco style! – using stylish awning stripe table linens plus simple centerpiece ideas.

I hope you had fun reading all about my post on Signature Style and how you can discover your signature style! To keep up the decorating fun I’m sharing my latest tablescape with you and a sneak peak of my quickie gazebo makeover too.

Last week I gave our outdoor gazebo a little decorating facelift in one afternoon on a really small budget and we love the results! I’ll share the makeover with you next week so stay tuned!

After I decorated our gazebo, I dressed up our DIY Restoration Hardware Inspired Farmhouse Table with a Black and White tablescape for an al fresco dinner party we threw last weekend!

I set our table with gorgeous black and white awning stripe napkins and table runner as my starting point.

Next, I layered on lots of crisp clean white: A simple white hydrangea centerpiece in a large white ceramic bowl using faux hydrangea flowers (my real hydrangeas hadn’t bloomed yet!), white dishes and white wooden chargers. I kept all of the centerpiece elements low so that we could all easily talk with each other instead of having to peer around large tall objects!

I added some shine (you know I love my touches of glam!) with these crystal votives.

Last I topped  off my tablescape with texture and pretty greenery, taking cue from our lush treed backyard. I used 2 faux sage plants in white plant pots and mini bouquets of boxwood cuttings from my yard. Don’t you just love boxwood?

…here’s a sneak peak of of what I added in our gazebo makeover…black curtains! They look so crisp… and look amazing with our black  iron planters and urns! (I’ll show you the easy simple trick I used to hang the curtains in my makeover post!)

I love the contrast and simplicity of these black and white Awning Stripe linens.  Keeping my tablescape neutral in color allows Mother Nature’s touches in our yard to shine!

I folded the napkins in a simple rectangle with the stripes running horizontally instead of vertically for a twist!

I love the cozy feel out gazebo has now and the stylish pop of black and white these striped linens add!

Beautiful in it’s simplicity! Definitely would make me want to sit down and chat & it also feels “coastal” to me. You’ve got my vote hands down, no question!

Beautiful! It’s so funny – I’ve been looking for black and white striped fabric to make runners out of. Black and white is just so classy. I love the look. Simple yet so striking.
