Summer House Tour & summer decor ideas

See my summer house tour & summer decor ideas!

It’s summer and boy am I ready for the warm weather! I’ve thrown open the windows to let the smell of fresh cut grass and summer garden flowers into my home and decorated my home for the season! Today I’m sharing my Summer House Tour with you – I’m so excited to show you all the decorating I’ve done for summer in summer whites and blues to brighten my home with a casual, elegant summer breezy look!

I’m also sharing my decor sources in case you’d like to know where to buy something here!

Summer White Foyer:

My foyer is decked out in summer white…and of course I’ve added my go-to  color, black, for contrast. Don’t be afraid of using white in your foyer! I have 2 boys so I use fabrics that can be thrown in the washer and dryer for quick cleanup! This chair slipcover is easy to clean and the rug is indoor/outdoor so it can be hosed off in a jiffy!

Don’t you love this summer white chunky tasseled throw? I love to keep baskets filled with throws all through my house. I’m always grabbing one to throw over my shoulders in my office (that’s a peek of it there behind the french doors!) or when I’m watching TV… or reading in the family room. Plus I have an obsession with baskets – this one has such gorgeous texture! I love the look of natural sea grass don’t you?

Trellis Rug  – this is the perfect rug for a foyer because it’s great at hiding dirt! It’s also very very easy to clean – we LOVE it!

Summer Family Room:

We’ve had this buttonless tufted leather sectional forever – it’s so comfy to snuggle up on for movie nights and the leather just gets better looking the more we use it! I love how easy the leather is to clean up too!

Our horse art completely makes this room! It’s huge and I love it’s distressed look!

I added some rope accents to the coffee table for some texture.

I love adding shells to my summer decor – I add them everywhere in my home, in jars, bowls…. here I’ve added this large gorgeous shell on a stack of books. Sometimes decorating really is as simple as that!

Shell – Goodwill (yes Goodwill!)

Summer Family room:

This TV media unit is amazing for organizing and storage! It holds all of our TV and music/ media components, has lighted display cabinets too. It’s so well built – it’s survived a lot of military moves! The popcorn is ready – sit right down and let’s watch a movie!

Summer mantel:

I’m still loving our painted tile fireplace makeover and the paint is holding up perfectly! It looks so fresh and bright for summer!

I love decorating my fireplace mantel each season. I’ve added lots of summer aqua, turquoise and teal blue to bring the beach into our home. Driftwood and rope spheres add tons of texture. Lots of shells…mercury glass….and one of my hubby’s military pewter mugs filled with fresh hydrangeas!

I added fresh hydrangeas to blue mason jars too – love this shade of blue!

I added some more sisal rope to the lanterns.

And look! Another basket filled with another throw! Sometimes the nights get chilly here – even in the summer and especially after one of those big summer thundershowers we sometimes get. So it’s nice to have a cotton throw blanket to warm up with!
