Wood Cutout

Acrylic Paint Yellow

Scrapbook paper

Paintbrush

Invisible Tape
Scissors
Sandpaper
Acrylic Easel

Tutorial:

Lightly sand the wooden birdcage to remove any sharp pieces.
Place birdcage onto scrapbook paper and with a pencil trace around the outer edge.  Cut out.
Paint birdcage with the yellow paint, 2 coats.  Let dry.
Roll up a few pieces of tape and place them onto the back of the birdcage.  Place birdcage on the scrapbook paper.  Press firm.  Using the tape allows you to switch the paper to show the white or black side!

That’s it – another DIY finished!

I put mine on a bookcase.  I have a light switch on the right hand side that I wanted to cover, since it’s rarely used.

I put my Birdcage Art on an acrylic easel to prop it up and sat it in front of the light switch.  Now we don’t see the light switch but can still access it!

Now you see it….

Doesn’t this art give a lovely pop of color?  I am really enjoying this art piece – hope you do too!

It is adorable!! I saw that birdcage at Michaels and was contemplating getting it… I thought it was the cutest thing ever but was unsure what I would want to do with it… I have a rule of not buying something until I know what I want to do with it.. it’s the only way to discipline myself from always buying..LOL! I LOVE what you did with it! Thanks for the inspiration!!
