No Cricut machine?  No Silhouette machine?  No Problem!  Here’s an easy way to make your own ‘Congratulations Graduate’ Banner! 

(I made this for my son who graduated high school last week – but this would work for your ‘little graduate’ or a college graduate too!)

Supplies:
 
 
Scrapbook Paper: 3 sheets each a different color/pattern
 
(I used one sheet of graduation scrapbook paper.)
 
 
Scissors
 
Pencil
 
  
Here’s the banner “Before” in primary colors:
 
How to turn a graduation banner into one that has the colors that fit your graduation party! See this easy tutorial to make it!
 
Here is the graduation banner “After” in Black, Silver and Gray:
 
DIY Congratulations Graduate Banner.
 
Tutorial:
 
Place tracing paper on top of each letter of the banner and with pencil trace the outline of each letter.
 
Cut out the traced shape from the tracing paper.
 
Place tracing paper letters onto scrapbook paper and with pencil trace the letters again.
 
Cut out the scrapbook paper letters.
 
With glue stick attach each scrapbook paper letter onto banner.

Didn’t it turn out terrific?  It’s much better than the original banner I think and it’s much more suited for my teenage son.

There are so many different ways you could make this….instead of using scrapbook paper you could use pages from books, or newspapers or maps!
