Here is my Simple Painted Bench Makeover – I scored this wooden bench at Goodwill for $5.00! Yes $5.00! I gave it a simple paint face lift and voila! A new-to- me bench for my entryway!
Painted Bench Makeover – DIY Home Decor Idea
This is not a complicated DIY – Sometimes all it takes to refresh a piece of furniture is a couple of coats of neutral white!
Here’s the Before:
…and ‘After’! What a difference it is with a fresh white paint facelift!
See my paint colors and my go-to gray color here!
Supplies:
- DecoArt Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint in Everlasting
- DecoArt Americana Decor Clear Creme Wax
- Purdy 2.5 inch Paint brush
Tutorial:
1. Cover bench with two coats of Everlasting Chalky Finish Paint – no prep sanding is required!
2. After paint is completely dry add one coat of clear wax with a clean cloth. Let dry then buff with a clean cloth.
That’s it – super quick and easy!
I added a couple of my new IKEA pillows (same ones I recently added to my living room makeover!), a bowl of shells I collected in Murrells Inlet South Carolina on a past summer vacation, a basket with a throw I hand knitted ages ago and a sheepskin rug. Ahhhh!!! I love the calming look it gives my entryway! Doesn’t it say “Welcome! Come on in, take off your shoes and stay for a visit?”
I hope you like my bench makeover as much as I do! Not only is this bench super functional but by adding pillows and textiles it’s a great way to add pattern and texture to an entryway.
