    Great ideas!

If you’re using acorns as vase filler, I recommend drying them in the oven first, and spraying with a clear adhesive.

I didn’t see this before I decided to just do apothecary jars on my mantel and change out the contents each month. (a full-time job 10 months/year means keeping it simple!) These are great!

I have tried displaying mini pumpkins and gourds in apothecary jars with the lid but they dont get air and soon they begin to mold and rot. Do you clear coat them first or what do you do to preserve them?

Hi Sarah – the pumpkins I use are faux pumpkins….I think there is a way to preserve pumpkins with a bleach/soap/water cleaning….maybe google that and see if you find any tips to help you. I would think adding a coat of matte varnish would work too!

Hi Heather! I don’t know when this was posted, I just found it on Pinterest and I HAD to say, THANK YOU! This year, I was fresh out of ideas for filling my fall apothecary jars and large glass cylinders. Thanks to you, I now have to decide which ones are my favorite – a delightful dilemma!
Our 5 grandsons, all under 11 years old, will think Glamma is the coolest ever when they see the snakes and spiders under glass! What fun that will be for me. Thank you for sharing your creative spirit.
