2012 Paint Colour Trends Series

Hello everyone!

Well its a New Year and of course that means new design trends.  I love to learn about the new trends in paint and decor, don’t you too?!  Reviewing the forcasted design trends is just a great way to base your ideas for updating the decor of your home; to keep your home looking current and fresh.

I don’t believe in being ‘trendy’ but I do believe in being ‘on trend’; if that makes any sense!

So, over the next few days I’ll be blogging about paint colour trends for 2012.

It’s always interesting to see where your house fits into the new colour pallettes that paint companies present for the year.  Or maybe you want to repaint a room and need some inspiration.

Even if you are not planning on painting your walls, new paint colours can always be introduced by painting furniture, picture frames, canvasses ect.  Which is the direction I will most likely go since I am renting and won’t be painting the walls!

One of my favorite magazines, Style at Home, reports that 2012 colours will  focus on the sombre sophistication of Mother Nature/earth tones as well as bright, candy-like colours that reflect optimism regarding the state of flux that encompasses our current world.

Well, that sounds really deep!! But I am all for optimism!!

Mother nature tones:

So far I am more attracted to the Mother Nature tones…..which do you like?

Part 1 of this series will focus on trend colours from Benjamin Moore.  Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Heather
