School is about to start in two weeks for my youngest son…he’s heading into Grade 9… Highschool!
He’s nervous already about it… he’s worried that the classes are going to be super hard but I’ve been reassuring him that he’ll do really well. Because that’s what we Mom’s do right? Tell our kids that everything will be just fine!
To make the beginning of this school year go a bit smoother I’ve come up with a new fun and delicious after school snack idea for him!
So that when he comes home after a day of classes he can refuel , sit down with me and chat about his day!
Healthy Colorful Vegetable Snack Idea for Kids served in a Mason Jar, with a fruit garnish:
I serve these crunchy snacks in mason jars for fun and garnish them with sliced fruit on a party toothpick!
I make up several of these at a time and keep them in my refrigerator so that when my son comes home we can sit down at the kitchen table and chat and munch away!
- fresh vegetables such as green and yellow beans, pea pods, carrot sticks and grape tomatoes
- slicked fruit such as strawberries and melon
Just wash up the vegetables and fruit and stick them in a mason jar, using party toothpicks – snacks are ready!!
* I hope you enjoyed this delicious healthy snack idea – perfect for kids (and adults too!!) *
