My Space: Dining Room

Hello everyone!  Today I am continuing my house tour with my Dining Room:

My husband inherited this beautiful mahogany dining room set many years ago.

These drapes and chandelier came with the house, we are renting, so they stay up!  Not exactly my taste, but they are fine.....My husband is in the military and renting for 3 years made more sense than buying and trying to resell within such a short time period....since housing prices are still falling in our area of Virginia, I am glad we didn't buy....although being a renter after owning your home for a number of years can be frustrating at times! But you do whacha gotta do!

This picture shows a partial view of our foyer and the stairs that lead to the bedrooms on the second floor.  To the left is our dining room.  I love the molding on the columns and the cathedral ceilings bring in tons of natural light!

This is a view from our dining room into our living room.   Our home has an open concept floor plan.  You can see a bit of our entertainment center in our living room in this pic.

Another view into our living room.

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of my dining room and if you would like to see more of my home please visit the My House Page of my blog.

Thanks for coming by for a visit! I'd love to hear your comments! And please, become a follower!

  10. What a fabulous, bright room. Love your ironstone and that peek of red rug I see in the foyer!

You've really made it your own - even with renting. I hear you on not buying because of the market. We moved a few years ago, right when the market began to plummet and it took forever to sell the house and we took a huge loss. I said if we ever had to move out of state again, we would definitely rent.

  17. I enjoyed your little tour. Your home is so beautiful, wouldn't think it is a "rental". Your dinning room is beautiful and love the dining room set. I also like your china pattern. I wish my dinning room was this big! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration over at Sunday's Best!

  19. A rental house? Wow. Your dining room set is so beautiful. I hope you never ever PAINT it! It really pains me when I see beautiful vintage wood furniture that may need just a bit of loving care painted over to look "chippy." But that's just me. I love the classic look - can't go wrong with shining wood floors, beautiful stoneware and china, glittering candlesticks, gleaming polished wood furniture against light colored walls with white painted trim. LOVE! The curtains may not be to your taste, but they do compliment the room and your set beautifully. I wouldn't change a thing!
