You've seen them in the PB catalogues sitting in baskets and in those clear glass lamps that they sell:

Pottery Barn

These  scrolls are not even for sale at PB!!  They use them as styling props for their magazines.... but I will show you how to make them!

Here are my DIY Page Scrolls on a large steel plate with my  DIY Reindeer Moss Spheres

Here they are in an apothecary jar:

Supplies:

Natural Polished Hemp Twine - Walmart 5.00$

1 book - Goodwill 1.00$

I used the pages of  'Les Miserables'.   Best musical I have ever seen and a great story. My husband and I saw it in Toronto, Canada when we were dating and it was
A-MAZ-ING.  Have you read the book or seen the opera?  I love the song 'I Dreamed a Dream'...gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.  You can listen to it here.

Ok, back to the project!

Tutorial

Tear out several pages of the book (I apologize to all you book lovers out there cringing right now!).  I found it easier to tear out 3 to 4 pages together rather than one at a time.  Don't worry if you rip them a bit when you are removing them, because that side is not going to show.

Take a page and starting with the ripped side roll it with your hands into a tube.  The ripped side will be on the inside and won't show.

Holding it with one hand take the twine and wrap it around the middle of the tube 2 or 3 times, tie in a knot and trim ends with scissors.

That's it - you're done!

Isn't that easy??  A quick and inexpensive DIY to get that Pottery Barn look!!
